CIFOR Webinar Series

General overview of the CIFOR Guidelines for Foodborne Disease Outbreak Response and Toolkit (May 24, 2016 at 2:00PM)

The New York State Integrated Food Safety Center of Excellence (NY CoE) is pleased to announce the initiation of a food safety webinar series for state and local health department staff (epidemiology, environmental health, and laboratory) within the NY CoE region. The goal of these webinars is to assist states and jurisdictions throughout the NY CoE region in using the Council to Improve Foodborne Outbreak Response (CIFOR) Guidelines Toolkit to evaluate their preparation and capacity for effective foodborne illness surveillance and outbreak detection and investigation. The first webinar of the series was offered on May 24, 2016 at 2:00 PM EST and provided a general overview of the CIFOR Guidelines for Foodborne Disease Outbreak Response and Toolkit.  Access the slide deck to review.

Focus Area 1: Relationships with Relevant Agencies and Organizations

The New York State Integrated Food Safety Center of Excellence (NY CoE) is pleased to announce a second webinar, part of a food safety webinar series for state and local health department staff (epidemiology, environmental health, and laboratory) within the NY CoE region. The goal of these webinars is to assist states and jurisdictions throughout the NY CoE region in using the Council to Improve Foodborne Outbreak Response (CIFOR) Guidelines Toolkit to evaluate their preparation and capacity for effective foodborne illness surveillance and outbreak detection and investigation. The second webinar of the series titled, “NYCoE CIFOR Partnerships during Investigations” was offered on June 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM EST and pertained to Focus Area 1: Relationships with Relevant Agencies and Organizations of the CIFOR Toolkit.  The webinar was recorded for future viewing purposes, and the slide set is available for review.

Focus Area 2: Necessary Resources

The New York State Integrated Food Safety Center of Excellence (NY CoE) is pleased to announce a third webinar, part of a food safety webinar series for state and local health department staff (epidemiology, environmental health, and laboratory) within the NY CoE region. The goal of these webinars is to assist states and jurisdictions throughout the NY CoE region in using the Council to Improve Foodborne Outbreak Response (CIFOR) Guidelines Toolkit to evaluate their preparation and capacity for effective foodborne illness surveillance and outbreak detection and investigation. The third webinar of the series titled, “NYCoE CIFOR Necessary Resources” was offered on July 27, 2016 at 2:00PM EST and  pertained to Focus Area 2: Necessary Resources of the CIFOR Toolkit. The webinar was recorded and available for future viewing purposes, and the slide set is available for review.

Focus Area 3: Communication

The New York State Integrated Food Safety Center of Excellence (NY CoE) is pleased to announce a fourth webinar, part of a food safety webinar series for state and local health department staff (epidemiology, environmental health, and laboratory) within the NY CoE region. The goal of these webinars is to assist states and jurisdictions throughout the NY CoE region in using the Council to Improve Foodborne Outbreak Response (CIFOR) Guidelines Toolkit to evaluate their preparation and capacity for effective foodborne illness surveillance and outbreak detection and investigation. The fourth webinar of the series titled, “NYCoE CIFOR Communication” was offered on August 23, 2016 at 2:00PM EST and pertained to Focus Area 3: Communication of the CIFOR Toolkit. Focus Area 4: Complaint Systems

The New York State Integrated Food Safety Center of Excellence (NYCoE) is pleased to announce a fifth webinar, part of a food safety webinar series for state and local health department staff (epidemiology, environmental health, and laboratory) within the NYCoE region. The goal of these webinars is to assist states and jurisdictions throughout the NYCoE region in using the Council to Improve Foodborne Outbreak Response (CIFOR) Guidelines Toolkit to evaluate their preparation and capacity for effective foodborne illness surveillance and outbreak detection and investigation. The fifth webinar of the series titled, “NYCoE CIFOR Complaint Systems” will be offered on September 28, 2016 at 2:00PM EST and will pertain to Focus Area 4: Complaint Systems of the CIFOR Toolkit. Slides from the webinar and a recording are available for future viewing purposes.

The New York State Integrated Food Safety Center of Excellence (NYCoE) is pleased to announce a sixth webinar, part of a food safety webinar series for state and local health department staff (epidemiology, environmental health, and laboratory) within the NYCoE region. The goal of these webinars is to assist states and jurisdictions throughout the NYCoE region in using the Council to Improve Foodborne Outbreak Response (CIFOR) Guidelines Toolkit to evaluate their preparation and capacity for effective foodborne illness surveillance and outbreak detection and investigation. The sixth webinar of the series titled, “NYCoE CIFOR Pathogen-Specific Surveillance” will be offered on October 12, 2016 at 2:00PM EST and will pertain to Focus Area 5: Pathogen-Specific Surveillance of the CIFOR Toolkit. Slides from the webinar and a recording are available for future viewing purposes.

The goal of these webinars is to assist states and jurisdictions throughout the NYCoE region in using the Council to Improve Foodborne Outbreak Response (CIFOR) Guidelines Toolkit to evaluate their preparation and capacity for effective foodborne illness surveillance and outbreak detection and investigation. The seventh webinar of the series titled, “NYCoE CIFOR Initial Steps Webinar” will be offered on November 22, 2016 at 2:00PM EST and will pertain to Focus Area 6: Initial Steps (of foodborne outbreak response) of the CIFOR Toolkit. The eighth webinar of the series titled, “NYCoE CIFOR Epidemiology Investigations Webinar” will be offered on January 19, 2017 at 2:00PM EST and will pertain to Focus Area 7: Epidemiology Investigation of the CIFOR Toolkit. The ninth webinar of the series titled, “NYCoE CIFOR Environmental Health Investigation Webinar” will be offered on February 16, 2017 at 2:00PM EST and will pertain to Focus Area 8: Environmental Health Investigation of the CIFOR Toolkit. The tenth webinar of the series titled, “NYCoE CIFOR Laboratory Investigation Webinar” will be offered on March 22, 2017 at 2:00PM EST and will pertain to Focus Area 9: Laboratory Investigation of the CIFOR Toolkit. The eleventh webinar of the series titled, “NYCoE CIFOR Control of Source and Secondary Spread Webinar” will be offered on April 18, 2017 at 2:00PM EST and will pertain to Focus Area 10: Control of Source and Secondary Spread of the CIFOR Toolkit.
